My week was pretty good. I am getting used to my new commute. It’s long, but not that bad because I am on the same bus for most of it. I think I am going to like working at BU. I ran into a friend who works at the law library and a new colleague asked me out to lunch.

I’m sharing a picture, I’m also embedding it below, but I’m not sure if it’s going to work. It is of part of the campus where I work. The the left is the College of Arts and Sciences and the Chapel is to the right. The sculpture is dedicated to MLK who earned a doctoral degree in systematic theology from BU in 1955.

The tall building in the background is the Law School. The architecture is in the brutalist style as is the main library (not pictured). I’ll have to get more pictures. Brutalist architecture involves a lot of exposed concrete, simple lines, bold geometry, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Personally I love it, it has a very modern, mid-century feel that is at once both edgy and familiar. Very industrio-wabi-sabi.
